About EHSRM

As part of Administrative Services, Environmental Health Safety and Risk Management (EHSRM) supports the university community by promoting a culture of safety that prioritizes a safe work environment, mitigation of risk, and environmental responsibility while actively advancing the university’s mission.

EHSRM also works to serve the local area through the inclusion of community impact in program expectations and instilling safety, health, and environmental stewardship in the work they perform.

Lab & Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Safety

Lab & Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Safety (LRS) works to support the needs of our academic and research community. LRS strives for safety and excellence, providing comprehensive safety programs & services that support scientific discovery, engineering ingenuity, and promotes a strong culture of safety foundation in our students, faculty, and staff. 

Environmental Affairs focuses primarily on compliance with environmental regulations issued by both federal and state law. This group also provides programs and services to help protect the university community and environment from potential environmental hazards generated by university activities.

We’ve got you covered from Ergonomics to Field Safety.  Occupational Safety will assist to evaluate hazards with equipment, processes, or a new research project.  We provide workplace inspections, training, and are always available for consultation.   Together we can prevent accidents from happening.

We build a safer, more resilient campus through preparedness, planning, and partnership. From training and emergency planning to response coordination, we're here to support the Nanook Nation before, during, and after emergencies. Stay prepared. Stay informed. Stay resilient.

 

Risk Management works to protect people, property, and mission by identifying and managing all types of risk confronting the university. From insurance and claims to training and prevention, the Risk Management Team provides guidance and services aimed to minimize risk and protect UAF assets.
