UAF space utilization pilot program
Aug. 11, 2025
Beginning this fall semester, UAF Space Planning is launching a 90-day pilot program with Lambent Spaces to explore a new way of understanding campus space utilization. The system uses our existing Wi-Fi access points to anonymously estimate occupancy, with no personally identifiable information collected.
This pilot will run in the Arctic Health Â鶹¹ÙÍø Building, Duckering, and Elvey. The goal is to evaluate if this technology can provide us with valuable data — such as high-level usage trends — to inform future planning and create a more efficient campus environment for everyone.
