UAF School of Education students receive CARTA scholarship

The Central Alaska Retired Teachers Association selected two Â鶹¹ÙÍø Fairbanks School of Education students as recipients of the prestigious Marie Paxon Educator Scholarship. Stefanida Martushev of Homer, Alaska, and Trevor Guernsey of Sterling, Alaska, will each receive $2,500 for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Founded more than 50 years ago, CARTA supports Alaska’s education community by advocating for education legislation and providing meaningful assistance to pre-service teachers in Southcentral Alaska.
