Canvas courses get new look for spring semester
Starting in spring 2026, courses in Canvas will feature a new basic template designed to help instructors streamline and organize materials using current student-centered best practices. The new template will appear automatically in the spring course shell.
Faculty can also access a new set of Canvas course design resources that provide guidance for building in-person and distance courses.
The Center for Teaching and Learning will host three information sessions about the new template on Oct. 28 at noon, Nov. 3 at noon and Nov. 11 at 1 p.m.
