OUR MISSIONThe University Fire Department's mission is to provide professional fire, rescue, and medical services to our community while developing leaders in tomorrow's emergency services workforce. We fulfill this mission with 42 student firefighters, complemented by 12 hardworking staff officers. In addition to being full-time firefighters, our students carry a full-time academic load of 12 credits per semester. In an effort to recognize the extraordinary work our firefighters and officers do throughout the year, we hold a University Fire Department Awards Banquet. This event can only come to fruition with funds raised privately, not using public or taxpayer funds. |
