Andy Aschwanden researches the flow of glaciers and ice sheets and their interaction with the atmosphere and the ocean. He is currently focusing on the history of the Greenland ice to predict future changes. He studies the interactions between ice dynamics, calving, and fjords; the mechanics and thermodynamics of glaciers and ice sheets; and ice sheet model validation.
