The UAF Cooperative Extension Service Juneau Office connects the latest university research with the everyday needs of Southeast Alaska communities. We provide practical, research-based education that helps Alaskans build skills, solve problems, and improve their homes, gardens, families, businesses, and communities.

Whether you're learning to preserve food, grow a garden, identify local plants, participate in 4-H, or attend a community workshop, Extension offers trusted information tailored to Alaska's unique environment.

Our programs focus on lifelong learning through classes, workshops, publications, demonstrations, and one-on-one assistance. We believe research is most valuable when it can be applied in everyday life, empowering Alaskans with the knowledge and confidence to thrive.

The Juneau District serves communities throughout Southeast Alaska, a region connected by the waterways and islands of the Inside Passage. Home to Alaska's capital city, the district works with 35 communities to provide research-based education in agriculture, horticulture, food preservation, natural resources, health, nutrition, and youth development.

We acknowledge the Alaska Native nations upon whose ancestral lands our office resides. The UAF Cooperative Extension Service Juneau Office is located on the unceded territory of the Áakʼw Ḵwáan on Lingít Aaní, the traditional homeland of the Lingít people, now known as Juneau, Alaska.
