A Call for Scientists and Â鶹¹ÙÍøers Interested in K-6 Outreach Opportunities
Science Education Outreach for K-6
REACH seeks to provide Alaska Native students and their teachers with accurate, culturally
relevant science curriculum that improves student achievement on science, technology,
engineering, and math (STEM) assessments, and trains Alaska Native youth to propose
solutions to local climate change issues.
Interested scientists should be available for travel to Alaska Native villages in
the Bering Strait School District, as well as have a desire and ability to work with
K-6 teachers and students, either in the classroom or at teacher workshops. Travel
will begin mid-April 2014 and opportunities for outreach site visits will continue
                           through October 2015.
Scientist time is voluntary, but all travel and related costs will be provided by
REACH. If interested, please contact Kari Rasmussen, klrasmussen@alaska.edu or (907)
                           450-8360 for more details.
